Lava has finally expanded its Agni smartphone lineup with the launch of the Lava Agni 4, a device that arrives after considerable anticipation and also marks the brand’s official entry into the UK market. Positioned in the mid-premium segment, the smartphone introduces a host of upgrades in design, display technology, performance, and system-level AI.
The Lava Agni 4 is priced at ₹24,999, and with applicable bank offers, buyers can purchase it for ₹22,999. The device will be available starting November 25 at 12 PM on Amazon India. Lava is also offering at-home replacement service for manufacturing defects covered under warranty, reflecting growing confidence in its premium hardware.

Premium and Distinctive Design
The Lava Agni 4 immediately stands out the moment you unbox it. Unlike many devices in the segment, Lava has focused on creating a fresh identity in both packaging and product aesthetics. I received the Phantom Black variant for review, while the Lunar Mist colour option is also available.
The design features:
- Aluminium flat frame offering a sturdy and comfortable grip
- AG matte glass back panel with a smooth, premium finish
- Minimal branding and clean layout, offering a modern aesthetic
However, the soft-touch glass tends to attract smudges and dust, which makes using the bundled case a practical choice.
A major visual shift this year is the new pill-shaped rear camera island, replacing the secondary display found in the Agni 3. The dual-camera setup sits within this module, with the Agni branding positioned vertically for a distinctive look. The design influence resembles older LG flagships, giving the device a premium character rarely seen in this price range.
Controls, Buttons and Action Key
The Lava Agni 4 features well-placed buttons including volume controls and a power key. The highlight is the customizable Action Key, finished in a contrasting colour to stand out visually. This button can be assigned to quick functions such as:
- Launching apps
- Turning on the flashlight
- Taking screenshots
- Triggering shortcuts and tools
This is a thoughtful addition that enhances usability and delivers meaningful functionality instead of being just a visual design element.
Ports and openings include a USB Type-C port, SIM tray, and speaker grille, neatly arranged on the lower edge.
Display – AMOLED Upgrade with Flagship-Like Brightness
The Lava Agni 4 sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a high 1.5K resolution, offering sharp visuals and vibrant colours. Key specifications include:
- 120Hz refresh rate
- Up to 2,400 nits peak brightness
- 1.7mm ultra-thin bezels
- Wide colour coverage and high contrast
The display is excellent for outdoor use, multimedia consumption, gaming, and reading. The panel also brings a more premium touch compared to standard Full HD displays often used in the sub-₹25,000 segment.
Performance – MediaTek Dimensity 8350 with Strong Benchmarks
Powering the Agni 4 is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset, a 5G platform focused on power efficiency and high performance. Lava claims an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 1.4 million, placing it ahead of several competitors in the segment.
The smartphone comes with:
- 8GB LPDDR5X RAM
- Virtual RAM expansion up to 16GB
- 256GB UFS 4.0 storage
To maintain sustained performance during gaming or demanding workloads, the device includes a 4,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system and a dedicated Game Booster mode, designed to stabilise frame rates and minimise thermal throttling.
Software – Android 15 with Vayu AI at System Level
One of the biggest differentiators of the Lava Agni 4 is its new AI suite, Vayu AI, integrated into the operating system. Unlike app-level solutions found in most phones, Vayu AI works system-wide, helping users interact naturally and perform tasks more efficiently.
Key AI features include:
- AI Math Teacher
- AI English Tutor
- AI Emotional Companion
- AI Call Summary
- AI Text Assistant
- AI Photo Editor and AI Image Generator
- AI Document Analyzer
- AI-based festival filters and skin tone optimization
The phone also supports Google Circle, expanding cross-device compatibility and AI integration.
Lava promises:
- 3 years of major Android OS updates
- 4 years of security patches
- Zero third-party bloatware
This level of software support is impressive for a Made-in-India smartphone in this price category.
Camera – High-Resolution Imaging with AI Enhancements
The Lava Agni 4 features a dual-camera system on the rear:
- 50MP main sensor
- 8MP ultra-wide sensor
On the front, users get a 50MP high-resolution selfie camera, which is rare in this segment.
Camera-specific AI features include:
- Skin tone refinement calibrated for Indian users
- Dual-View video mode
- Festival-based presets
- Dynamic range enhancement using Dual Conversion Gain (DCG)
- Document scanning and perspective correction
However, it is worth noting that the telephoto lens available on the Agni 3 has been removed this year, trading hardware complexity for a cleaner design and cost optimization.
